I purchased my first copy in my early college days and over 20 years later I bought this book again, because I had lost my taped up and worn out copy in a move/5().

Zen Flesh, Zen Bones is a collection of three zen works, Zen Stories, The Gateless Gate and Ten Bulls. And one chapter from the pre-zen Rudrayamala Tantra. I think this is probably a good book for people that are interested in Zen Buddhism, and I do like reading it, but I don’t think I got a lot out of it.

The first two works are Zen koans/5. Zen Stories. Zen Stories is a compilation of Zen koans including 19th and early 20th century anecdotes compiled by Nyogen Senzaki, and a translation of Shasekishū, written in the 13th century Zen Flesh Japanese Zen master Mujū (無住) (literally, "non-dweller").
