When a person is saved, God does not change sin from the transgression of the law to one's own conscience. God does not "throw the book out the window" at salvation. The obedience to Christ's commands, though not necessary to salvation, is necessary to happiness and success in the Christian life.

Salvation does not set us free from doing right. Oswald Jeffrey Smith was a Canadian pastor, author, and missions advocate. He founded The People's Church in Toronto in He was a leading force in Fundamentalism in Canada. The Goodreads community is, of course, exceptional when it comes to finding great books.

The Law, /5(7). John MacArthur wrote, “There is no salvation through the keeping of God’s law, because sinful man is utterly incapable of doing so. He has neither the ability nor the inclination within himself to obey God perfectly.” There is a great chasm that stands between our condition and God’s character.

This salvation in Christ which is wholly of God’s grace, is based upon Christ’s complete satisfaction to the Law of God and the justice of God, by paying in full the sin-debt of His people. Therefore the Scriptures teach, if they teach anything, that by the Law of God shall no man be justified in the sight of God.

Sanctification comes through the sweet prompting and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit leads us into joyful obedience to prepare us to live in God’s presence. Do not confuse justification with sanctification. God Himself has provided admission to. In trying to understand Old Testament salvation, we have both the advantage and the disadvantage of having the New Testament.

The New Testament is an advantage because we have some interpretive statements as to the purpose and limitations of the law and ways in which God. Man’s ing to the Genesis Salvation, when God created man He entered into a covenant with him in which, by following the pathway of obedience, man might then rise to a confirmed state of holiness; whereas, should he choose to disobey, he would then fall to enslavement under sin.

CHAPTER 2: THERE IS NO SALVATION UNDER THE LAW OF THE OLD COVENANT • Previous • Romans Lessons List • Next Beloved and eternal Father, You have given us the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the sake of our salvation'a gift of grace beyond all price and a gift which cannot be bought or earned'only a truly righteous God does for His children what they cannot do for themselves.

THERE IS NO SALVATION WITHOUT THE LAW. Galatians“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.” The law of God shows us our sinfulness and consequent need for Christ. It is a false teaching. Not only that, salvation by faith and works is also a false doctrine.

The Bible teaches that we are saved by faith alone in Christ alone. Salvation is being delivered from the righteous judgment of God that will fall upon those who have sinned by breaking his law. In order to be saved from that judgment, we must trust Christ. Simply then, sin (transgressing God’s law) leads to eternal death, but grace leads to eternal life.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good (Romans ). Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law.

The primary purpose of the New Testament book of Romans is to communicate the specifics regarding our salvation. These surrounding truths and the words Paul uses to describe them—words like justification, propitiation, atonement, and.

Paul understands that. That this is a sovereign work, and that God is not unjust. Psalm says, “Your righteousness is an ever-lasting righteousness.” Psalm“You are the righteous one.” God will do what God will do.

Paul understands that this work of salvation is a sovereign work done by God. But then come to verse Author: Nathan W. Bingham. Salvation is God's work, and we Christians should know how prayer and the Holy Spirit work is saving people.

"Salvation belongs to the Lord" (Psalm ).When someone appeals to God and seeks forgiveness in Jesus, his sins are removed, he is cleansed, his relationship with God is restored, and he is made a new creature (2 Cor.

Simply put, God's plan of salvation is the divine romance recorded in the pages of the Bible. Biblical salvation is God's way of providing his people deliverance from sin and spiritual death through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

God's Grace Brings Salvation 10 not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior. 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men. 12 It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age.

In other words, God uses certain means to save people. If a person keeps on in his sinful ways, he is not using the means that God has given to reveal His salvation. By reading God’s Word and by listening to the preaching of the Word, the seeking soul will be rewarded as Cornelius was, by obtaining eternal life.

Salvation, a freely given gift from God the Father, is the means by which a person is saved from the penalty of sin and given eternal life. The process of salvation begins with God's calling, opening the mind to spiritual truth.

“There is salvation in no one else no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” (Acts ). Is God fair if He sends people to hell who have never heard about Christ.

God is just (Genesis ; Romans ). Since all are sinners, God would have been just to send all people to hell. The Bible tells the story of God’s plan to save human beings from sin and bring them to eternal life.

In short, Jesus’ overall teaching on salvation and law was as follows: The Law is good but people can’t earn eternal salvation through it; salvation comes only by God’s unmerited grace provided through Jesus’ sinless self-sacrifice.
